The Wylie Bulldogs picked up their third win of the season Friday night against Lubbock Estacado, and are now riding a wave of momentum out of non-district play.

It's been an up and down non-district season for Wylie with loses to state ranked teams, Argyle and Graham, and victories over Bridgeport, Brownwood, and Lubbock Estacado. The Bulldogs are heading into their open date with a 3-2 record and thanks to their 16 point victory last Friday night, they are riding a 2 game winning streak. The momentum they are building is priceless.

"Anytime you get a big win on the raod against a good team it's going to give you some momentum. I certainly makes that open week practice go a lot better. The kids are in a better frame of mind. They see the hard work pays off. So, they want to come back and work harder the next week," said head coach Hugh Sandifer.

"Having a winning record going into our by week is good. It gives us a lot of confidence. Hopefully it gives us a lot more motivation coming of this bye week and into district," said Justin Sazon.

"It definitely gives us a bunch of momentum going into our bye week to practice fundamental football and just get ready for the next week," said Marshall Moore.

Wylie will kick-off district play a week from Friday when they host the Big Spring Steers at Bulldog Stadium.
