Cisco Falls 36-35 in State Title Game Against Refugio

The Cisco Loboes fought back from a 17 point deficit to only fall short by a point, 36-35, to a undefeated Refugio Bobcats team.

Going into halftime, the Cisco Loboes were only down by 1, 14-13, due to a missed extra point. Coming into the 3rd quarter, the Loboes took a 19-14 lead only to have the Bobcats score back to back and make it a 36-19 ballgame.

On the back of the Haden Lewis and Mason Reed, the Loboes continued to fight. Mason Reed ran back a kickoff and then the Loboes scored again to put them down by 3 with just 4 minutes left. After being pushed back inside their own 5, Refugio opted to take a safety then to punt from their own endzone, making the score 36-35.

The Loboes looked like their new-found momentum would bring them a victory, but on 4th and 2, Haden Lewis was stopped short, and the Loboes had to turn it over on downs with 58 seconds left.

Refugio went on to win 36-35.
