The Cisco Loboes kept hopes of winning a share of the district title alive with a win over Merkel on Friday afternoon.

The Loboes got the bats going in the second inning when Colten Gayle laid down a bunt that allowed Jackson Witt to cross the plate. That gave Cisco a 2-0 lead.

A short time later Clote Kent dropped down a bunt as well, and Vernon Owings came home for the Loboes third run of the afternoon.

By the end of the second inning the Loboes would stretch their lead to 6-0.

Merkel would get one of those runs back when Brandon Baker hit a shot to second base, and Mason Reed was unable to throw out Dixon Yaddow at the plate. That made the score 6-1 in the third inning.

Merkel would rally later in the game, but Cisco would hold on for a 9-6 victory.

The Loboes will match-up with Eastland on Tuesday night. The Mavericks have already locked up at least a share of the district crown, but the Loboes can share the title with a win.

The Badgers on the other hand remain in third in district 7-2A, and one game in front of Clyde.
