CCityNews.net is reporting that Colorado City Police Chief since 2011, Roy Owens, has been dismissed from his duties.

The dismissal occurred around 2 p.m. Tuesday and the reason for his dismissal, according to City Manager David Hoover, was "recurring problems."

Owens will be temporarily replaced by Lt. John Bivins until an out-of-town Police Chief can take over the position while a permanent replacement for Owens is found.

Coloado City residents are assured by Hoover that this transition will not affect law enforcement duties and operations.
