The Comanche Maidens are one step closer to the State Tournament after sweeping Coahoma in the regional semifinals.

The Maidens wasted little time getting to work on Saturday afternoon. By the second inning, Comanche was already up 5-0. Then Chandler Vaugh added to the lead with an RBI to right center.

That gave the Maidens a 6-0 lead. They wasted little time adding to that advantage as well.

Madelin Hurstrutter would add another run when she brough home Vaugh with a shot to center field.

By the end of the second, Comanche would have an 8-0 lead.

The would go on to win by the final count of 9-1 and advance to take on district rival Hawley next week in the regional finals.
