Cooper Riding a Three Game Winning Streak

The Cooper Cougars are riding a big waive of momentum after three straight wins, and perhaps their most complete game of the season last Friday night against rival Abilene High.

Offensively the Cougars were able to put 56 points on the board with 610 yards of offense. Much of that came with the running game, and a complete team effort by the offensive line, and skill players.

On the other side of the ball, Cooper was able to hold Abilene High to just ten points over the first three quarters. That combined with several big stops on third down resulted in perhaps the defense's best performance of the year.

Coach Moebes said, "I was pleased with the way we ran the football. Our guys up front did a good job and the backs did a good job of being disciplined in finding the holes that were being created. Defensively, we made some big 3rd down stops which certainly helped us. It's something we haven't done up to the point, so I am proud of their efforts there."

This week Cooper travels to Grande Communications Stadium to take on the Midland High Bulldogs.
