ABILENE, Texas — Hardin-Simmons’ men’s soccer team fell 3-2 to Southwestern on Saturday in the final game of American Southwest Conference-Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Challenge at the HSU Soccer Complex.
For the second straight game, HSU jumped out to a first-half lead. Dillon Parkhill scored in the 43rd minute.
Southwestern scored a pair of goals less than a minute a part early in the second half. Michael Olivares scored at 49:34 and Kirk Kemnitz tallied :50 later.
HSU tied the game in the 63rd minute when Tanner Coffin assisted Colyn Moore’s goal. The Pirates hit the game winner in the 77th minute on a Kyle Allen goal.
Blake Crum took the loss in goal for the Cowboys and Daniel Poole earned the win.
HSU is now 0-3 and all three losses have been by one goal. Southwestern improved to 1-1 on the year.
HSU heads to Washington next weekend to play Puget Sound and Pacific Lutheran.
