Last season, as a junior, Stidham threw for over 2,600 yards and 30 touchdowns. The Texas Tech commit is poised to improve on those numbers in 2014.
"I mean just keep growing as a player. You know, just working on the little things here and there that will help me in the long run. Every little thing I can work on, I'm going to try and work on it as much as I can," said Jarrett Stidham.
With Stidham returning at quarterback, along with some of his favorite targets, the expectations are once again high in Stephenville. Dave Campbell's has already picked the Yellow Jackets to win the Class 4A Div. I state championship, and named Stidham as their player of th year.
"I guess there might be some pressure with people's expectations and stuff, but I don't think about it to much. I just go out there and play ball with the guys. We made it to the semifinals last year, and it didn't turn out the way we wanted it to, but we've got a good core group of guys coming back this year, a good offense, a good defense. So, I'm expecting to go pretty far this year," said Stidham.
First the Yellow Jackets will have to get through one of the toughest districts in the state with Wylie, Brownwood, Snyder, and Big Spring. All five reached the postseason a year ago, and the road back to the playoffs likely goes through Stephenville.
Jarrett Stidham will play a big role in who takes the district, and makes the playoffs this year as well. That makes him a Player to Watch in 2014.
