An Abilene man arrested for drunk driving had a nine-year old girl in the car.
David Martinez, 37, was arrested mid-Saturday night. He was pulled over after police received a call saying Martinez was intoxicated at the Whataburger on E. Hwy 80. Police were able to locate him after the calling party described his license plate.
Martinez claimed to have taken hydrocodone and soma for back pain. He failed three sobriety tests he was asked to perform and was later arrested and sent to Hendrick Medical Center.
Martinez had his wife and nine-year old daughter inside the car. The wife was also intoxicated and arrested.
He was sent to Taylor County jail where he was charged with driving while under the influence with a child passenger and driving with license invalid.
Martinez was released Sunday on a $3,925 bond.
