There are more than 60 different products you can buy to get rid of ants.  Some will treat the ant problem quickly, but will not kill the colony. 

A popular home remedy has proven successful for many trying to get rid of the ants:
  • 2 tablespoons orange oil
  • 2 tablespoons molasses
  • 1 gallon water
Some suggest using six ounces oil, two ounces molasses, one gallon water. Once the ingredients are mixed, douse the mound for a humane, organic way to get rid of fire ants.
