An Abilene man is at the Taylor County Jail after he reportedly admitted to stabbing his roommate at a drug and rehab center.

Christopher Massey, 21, is charged with second degree aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after he allegedly stabbed his roommate multiple times at 180 House. Police arrived at the center just before 8 a.m. on Saturday and found the victim in the front, holding pressure on his abdomen, according to the arrest report.

The victim was stabbed three times and sent to Hendrick Medical Center where staff determined his injuries were non-life threatening. The report further states the Massey said he had stabbed the victim after the officer read his Miranda rights.

The victim, Dane Guffey, said him and Massey hadn't been getting along for the past week. It was on Saturday at around 7 a.m. when Guffey said Massey overreacted when being asked to turn down his music.

"There was a bit of a scuffle," recalls Guffey. "He went to get a knife and stabbed me three times when I got back to the room."

Guffey said he was in the hospital for about three hours. He admits he was not completely innocent in the situation but plans to press charges and remain at the center.

Massey is on a $35,000 bond.
