ABILENE, Texas - Abilene Christian's men's tennis team Friday lost both ends of an indoor doubleheader at the Teague Events Center, falling to the nation's No. 1 ranked junior college Tyler, 5-2, and the No. 8 D-III program from Trinity, 4-3.

The Wildcats won the doubles point in each match, but had trouble continuing their success onto the singles courts, where they lost nine of 12 matches. Sophomore Jason Proctor claimed the Wildcats' only other singles' point after he defeated Trinity's Nicolas Moreno at No. 4, 6-5, 6-3.

Proctor and teammate Michael Morris went 2-0 at No. 3 doubles today, as did the No. 2 team of Guilherme Gesser and Nico Agritelley. ACU's No. 1 doubles team of Borja Cortés and Nicklas Wingord went 1-1 as they followed a 6-2 loss to Tyler's Mate Cutura/James Martell with a 6-4 win against Trinity's Moreno and Paxton Deuel.

The Wildcats will look to rebound Saturday when they play host to a doubleheader featuring Texas-Permian Basin (12 p.m.) and McMurry (6:30 p.m.).
