So far, the district's had four snow closures. With two days taken care of, it must now move forward in supplementing the remaining two days.
Local school districts are working on their plans to make up for the missed school days due to the wintry weather we've had recently. In total, Abilene ISD has had four closures due to winter weather -- one back in December and three over the past two weeks.
With two of the four days being replaced by inclement weather days designated on the school calendar, the district plans to submit a waiver request to the state for the remaining two closure days. If that request is denied, students could have a shorter Spring Break or longer school year.
KTAB's reporter, LaDyrian Cole has more on the district's plans to makeup the days without cutting into more student holidays.
