Albany Particpates In Breaking Guinness World Record

The Town of Albany and 30 Other Groups Around the World Sang At The Exact Same Time To Break a World Record.
At 12 o'clock on the dot, Albany and thirty other groups worldwide sang for five minutes at the exact same time. Doing so, they played part in breaking the Guinness world record for the largest busk. A busk is a group of people who come together to sing on the street for donations.

In order to qualify, Albany needed 25 people to participate. When word spread, over 75 people showed up. Strict guidelines were followed as each person had to have two witnesses sign that they were present and the entire performance had to be filmed.

Darla Cotter, the Albany coordinator for the world breaking event, sang along with her daughter participating all the way across the world in London.

People of all ages were in attendance and some traveled across the state to be present. One singer came to check an item off her bucket list and break a world record.
