Updated: Baird Resident Succumbs to Motorcycle Wreck Injuries

A Baird resident passed away Tuesday from injuries he received during a motorcycle accident on August 17.

Below is a release from the Clyde Police Department detailing the August 17 motorcycle crash that later took the life of 40-year-old Johnny Branham of Baird:

On Sunday, August 17, at approximately 2:00 p.m., the Clyde Police Department responded to a reported motor vehicle crash on the S. Access Rd. near Clack St. in Clyde, TX.

The crash occurred after a Ford P/U truck traveling West on the S. Access Rd., turned left in front of a motorcycle traveling East on the S. Access Rd.

The truck struck the motorcycle, injuring the male driver of the motorcycle, and his female passenger.

The driver of the motorcycle, 40-year-old Johnny Branham of Baird, TX, was air-lifted to Hendrick Medical Center. The driver of the truck and female passenger of the motorcycle were transported to Hendrick Medical Center by ambulance.

On August 19, Branham passed away as a result of his injuries. The Clyde Police Department is continuing to investigate this crash. Alcohol is not believed to have been a factor at this time.
