Big Country Community Makes Thanksgiving Happen For Hundreds

Thanksgiving meal possible due to donations and volunteers.
Turkeys have been carved and ham has been sliced for the annual thanksgiving meal put on by the Veterans Service office. One thing they made known is that none of this would be possible without the community.

This year, the community was informed as to what was needed to make the meal a success. The community went above and beyond in donations of goods, money, and time.

The Veterans Service office has been flooded with calls these past few weeks regarding the upcoming feast. Some of the callers wanted to know the time, location, and if they could be picked and transported to the meal. Many others called to see how they could help.

According to Veterans Service Officer, Jimmy DeFoor, several families will be spending their thanksgiving serving others at the community meal.

Although planning  a meal for 1,500 is tough, every volunteer and worker explained that they were more than happy to help others.
