A year ago the Bulldogs made their fourth straight appearance in the state tournament in Round Rock. This year they return plenty of players from that team, but they are by no means looking past what should be a tough road to the postseason.
"Our main objective right now is to get better every single day and make routine plays. I tell them 'if we make routine plays we can make it through district. Then we can make big plays and get through the playoffs.' There's not been a lot of mention about going to state. It's just getting better and getting through district, because if you don't get in the playoffs you'll never make it to state," said head coach Lannie Templeton.
"For us to be as good as we can, we've got to come and work every single day. We've got to put forth the effort and when se step on the diamond all that matters is baseball at that particular time. We know that if we don't put in the effort day in and day out, our season will be over just as quick," said senior Gus West.
The Bulldogs got off to a 1-0 start last week in district and look improve on that mark this week when they take on Seymour.
