The Wylie Bulldogs are getting to play their opener on Friday night over in Argyle.

Head coach Hugh Sandifer's team has been hard at work for 3 weeks, and after 21 days of practice and 1 scrimmage against San Angelo Lake View.

The Bulldogs are ready to get on the field and get the new season started.

Hugh Sandifer said, "There's no better game than the opening game. You get to run out there, the band's playing, the cheerleaders, the fans are in the bleachers.  It levels out pretty quick once you get playing. Generally that first time you get popped pretty good, it kind of wakes you up where you're ready to play."

Baylen Baker said, " We're super pumped. We've been ready since the first day of two-a-days. Been working really heard, and about to get our film to get ready for Argyle. We've been waiting all year, since January."

Sandifer said, "We're just trying to string more together. Play a little more consistent. Hopefully our kids can understand that this is a maturing process. As much as playing the game. As much as getting ready mentally and getting ready to play."

Wylie has it's hands full to get things started.

They open 2014 on the road against the defending state champion Argyle Eagles at 7:30 Friday night.
