Cisco Keeps Eyes On Abernathy

Last year Canadian knocked the Cisco Loboes out of the playoffs and this year a possible rematch is looming on the horizon next week, but the Loboes say that's not even on their mind as they prepare for their next opponent, the Abernathy Antelopes

Brent West said "Canadian is not a focus this week at all. We're not even talking about it. Our kids are worried about Abernathy. They know that Abernathy is a good football team. They've pitched four shutouts this year. They play great defense, and they are definitely a good team. We've got to take care of business on Friday to see who the next opponent is."

Colt\on Kent said "Our coaches do a great job, and our seniors do a great job, of making sure we don't jump ahead, and that we're focused on Abernathy, and not whoever wins that Canadian Sonora game. We're just trying to take it one game at a time."

West said "Abernathy is very multiple. Offensively they've got a quarterback that is very similar to Colton Kent. He's a junior, but he's got great speed. He does things with his legs extremely well. He chunks it down the field. He's got some weapons at receivers. Huge offensive line, their defensive lineman are 305 and 355 so two of the biggest defensive lineman we've see all year. Just very well coached. I think that's one of the first impressions I have when I see this team on film on both sides of the ball. Very, very well coached football team."

That game against Abernathy is set to kickoff at 2:00 Friday in Snyder at Tiger Stadium.
