The suicide rate of our returning veterans continues to be higher than any other segment of society and today a Vietnam veteran tried to call attention to the problem and was almost arrested in downtown Abilene.
The suicide rate of our returning veterans continues to be higher than any other segment of society and today a Vietnam veteran tried to call attention to the problem and was almost arrested in downtown Abilene.

Larry Gordon went to Congressman Randy Neugebauer's Abilene office demanding to be heard, after, he says, two years of trying to get a meeting with the congressman.

The police were called and Gordon left after nearly being arrested.

As of news time Thursday evening, the Congressman made his response:

“For the past few weeks, my staff has been working with a constituent whose behavior has given us reason to be concerned for his well-being.  We referred the matter to the Capitol Police and the Abilene Police Department so they could provide the assistance required to ensure his health and safety.  I’m grateful for their service today and every day.”  - Congressman Randy Neugebauer
