The Cooper Cougars are in their final week of Spring football practice. The Cougars offensive line is one of the strengths heading into the 2014 season.

The group up front is led by seniors Hunter Hawkins, Jonathan Nicholson, and Jacob Vines.

That trio helped the 2013 Cougars break scoring, rushing and total yards records.

Hawkins, Nicholson, and Vines now have be examples for the new starters.

"They're huge. I mean Hunter Hawkins and Jonathan Nicholason have started 25 games for us, and they've seen just about everything that a defense can throw at them and seen it on a high level. They're really drawing on that experience," said head coach Todd Moebes.

"I think we're really using that experience to help the little guys kind of grow, come out of their shell, and grow as football players and as men. They're definitely doing a great job and we're going to have a great football team this year," said Hunter Hawkins.

"That's just great. I love it. I love all of them. Last year they did great on the offensive line. I'm truly excited to have them back," said running back Skylar Wilson.

The Cougars are just 3 days from finishing Spring practice. Things finish up on Thursday night at Shotwell Stadium with the Red/Blue scrimmage.
