Romo looked down the field more in his first two padded practices on Sunday, completing 13 of his 17 passes in 7-on-7 drills. Many of those passes thrown to two of his favorite targets, tight end Jason Witten and receiver Dez Bryant
A good start for the Cowboys veteran QB after having back surgery after an injury against the Washington Redskins last December.
While Romo made his return to the field in pads and increased his work level in practice on Sunday, head coach Jason Garrett was just happy to see his whole team strapped up.
"It's good to see them out there is shoulder pads and football pants, and looking like real football players, and I think they competed the right way. I think if you look at a lot of the different competitive parts of practice it was really impressive. Not to say that it's any good yet because it's not, but the approach is right, and they're going about it the right way, and we have guys on this football team who love to play, and love to compete against each other and that's going to be good for everybody in the long run," said Jason Garrett.
The Cowboys have the day off on Monday, but will be back on the practice field Tuesday afternoon in Oxnard, California.
