Cowgirls Compete At ITA In Tyler

TYLER, Texas — Hardin-Simmons’ women’s tennis team had a solid showing at the Southwest Regional Intercollegiate Tennis Association tournament held this weekend in Tyler.

TYLER, Texas — Hardin-Simmons’ women’s tennis team had a solid showing at the Southwest Regional Intercollegiate Tennis Association tournament held this weekend in Tyler.

Senior Genene Haddad advanced to the quarterfinals with a pair of three-set wins on Saturday before bowing out 7-5, 7-5 in the quarterfinals.

All of the Cowgirls singles and doubles teams played in the A flight.

Hannah Smith, Jasmin Briant and Jenna Smith all won their first round match and lost in the second round. Kacie Berutti and Alynna Phouthakio both dropped into the consolation bracket with first round losses.
In doubles action the only Cowgirls to win a match were the Smith sisters. They won in a tiebreaker over a team from Schreiner, before falling in the second round.
