Cowgirls Fall To Principia

INDIAN HILLS, Calif. — Hardin-Simmons’ women’s tennis team fell to Principia, 6-3, in the second match of its spring break trip to California.

INDIAN HILLS, Calif. — Hardin-Simmons’ women’s tennis team fell to Principia, 6-3, in the second match of its spring break trip to California.

After HSU won two of the three doubles matches to take a 2-1 lead, Principia answered with wins in all of the close matches and won five of the six singles matches.

Jasmine Briant at No. 4 singles was the only Cowgirl to win. Genene Haddad and Alynna Phouthakhio each lost tough three setters.

Hadad and Briant won 9-8 at No. 1 doubles and the Smith sisters won 8-2 at No. 2 doubles.

HSU is 1-4 on the year and will close the trip tomorrow with a 6 p.m. match against Cal Tech.
