Bit Whitaker announced her resignation Wednesday, effective immediately, according to a spokesman for the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services.
She returned from administrative leave this week, along with CPS head administrator Geneva Shroeder.
They were on leave since October after APD launched an investigation into possible misconduct in connection to the Klapheke case in August.
Two other CPS employees remain on administrative leave.
