Since 1970 Earth day has been celebrated in many ways we take a look at how Hardin-Simmons Students do their part.
Since 1970 people have participated in the acknowledgment of Earth day! Today at Hardin-Simmons University they had many activities to commemorate today. The Environmental Services club hosted the "Weigh your Waste" campaign which allowed students to bring their lunch trays to the front and have their wasted sorted and then weighed. The goal of this project is to raise awareness of just how much waste student produce on a daily basis. They hope to make a poster with the end results and hang it in the cafeteria with tips on how to reduce wasted for future HSU students. The Green Team was also out today doing their part. They conducted surveys asking students their opinion on sustainability at the university and what they would like to see improved. In honor or Earth day you could also paint your own flower pot and then take home a potted plant as a souvenir. There will be more activities at the university this week in honor of Earth day for more information click here.
