As a result, between 30 to 40 acres of land along CR 258 burned. The fire has been contained and as of early Sunday evening, crews remained on the scene to take care of hot spots but should flare out by midnight if weather permits.
Crews had to cut down trees and move dirt in order to fight the fire. According to a Eula firefighter, flames kept heading north due to the strong winds which made the situation more difficult.
It took 30 minutes and 10,000 gallons of water to extinguish the fire. The cause has yet to be determined.
