Former ACU Wildcat is making a big impact on the diamond since taking the field in the minors for the Spokane Indians. On Sunday Spivey capped off what's already been a good start to his pro career with a homerun.
Entering Sunday's match-up with Vancouver, the Rangers tenth round draft pick was hitting .327, and had crossed the plate ten times. Not a bad start in his first 16 games as a professional baseball player.
Then in the first inning, the Indians second baseman launched his first career homerun to right field. A solo shot on his birthday none the less.
Spivey would finish the game 3-5 with an RBI, and two runs scored in the Indians 9-3 victory over Vancouver. The second baseman/catcher also raised his season batting average to .348 on the season.
