When watering your lawn becomes a little bit
difficult, why not try something different.
Over the past couple of years using rocks instead of grass has become
more popular in the Big Country. Mary
Smith works for Mankin and Sons Gardens in Abilene, and according to her, there
are more pros than cons when it comes to using rocks. Rocks are hard to move, so make sure to bring in a design or
rough draft before purchasing supplies and putting them down. Once you've done it, it's hard to do it over
again. Deciding which rock to use just
comes down to personal preference and aesthetics. Smith says Lava Rocks are the most popular. While sprucing up
your backyard with rocks may be a lot of hard work in the beginning, experts
say it will pay off in the end.
