Hawks Jump On Dragons Early, Advance With 5-1 Victory

The Wall Hawks wasted little time jumping out to a lead against Bangs on Thursday night at Walt Driggers Field.
The Wall Hawks wasted little time jumping out to a lead against Bangs on Thursday night at Walt Driggers Field.

Pitcher Peyton Brown would help himself out in the top of the first with a two-run inside the park homer run to put Wall up 2-0. They would make it 3-0 a shot time later before Bangs' pitcher J.T. Newton ended the inning with a strike-out.

The Hawks would threaten again in the second inning but another Newton strikeout would get the Dragons out of the jam.

Brown would be equally impressive on the bump for the Hawks, and end the second inning with a strike-out to preserve his team's 3-0 lead.

It wouldn't be until the seventh inning that Bangs would finally get on the board, but their rally would fall short as Wall held on for the 5-1 victory.
