Hawley reached back in the "bag of tricks" to start the game on Friday when they went for an onside kick to start the game. It worked as Collin Waites was able to recover.
A short time later on a 4th and six from the 47 yard-line, Levi Irby converted with a 12 yard touchdown run to keep the drive alive.
Then Irby punched it in from 24 yards out to give Hawley a 7-0 lead. That would proved to be the difference in the game as Hawley held on for a 21-7 victory over Ballinger.
