Home in Buffalo Gap Considered a Total Loss After Fire

A home in Buffalo Gap is considered a total loss after a fire started from inside its utility room.
While several fire departments were battling a grass fire in Merkel on Sunday, others were in Buffalo Gap to extinguish a house fire.

Calls came in at around 4 p.m. at the Buffalo Gap Mobile Home Park off Pecan Street. A witness said she saw smoke billowing from inside the home.

No one was inside the home during the fire. The Buffalo Gap VFD chief says the fire started from inside the utility room. There were no exterior damages but the house is considered a total loss.

Buffalo Gap, Jim Ned, Potosi, and View volunteer fire departments were at the scene.

The fire is still under investigation.
