Another really hot day can be expected on Saturday with highs around 101 in Abilene and triple digits over most of the area. Since high pressure has moved to the west, more moisture is in place and that, combined with upper level disturbances, sets the stage for a few thunderstorms both Saturday afternoon and evening and Sunday afternoon and evening. Storms will likely be more numerous on Sunday. Storms this time of year can produce some suddent downburst winds so if you are near a storm this weekend, know that strong winds and lightning strikes are the main threats. Highs on Sunday should be around 95. Upper 90's for next week with a continued slight chance for storms Monday and possibly Tuesday.
