As of 7:30 Monday evening, Abilene had recorded 1.87 inches of rain in the previous 24 hours.
Rain will continue to be likely Monday night through Tuesday as a strong upper level low spins over southwest Oklahoma, destined for the Texas South Plains and eventually into New Mexico and northern Mexico over the next two days. With the low in the area, our rain chances remain high. A Flash Flood Watch remains in effect through Tuesday morning. Rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches will be possible through Tuesday over the majority of the KRBC viewing area. Temperatures will remain about 20 degrees below normal on Tuesday, with a high near 75. On Wednesday, highs near 80 degrees with a good chance for rain, but it should be lighter rain by Wednesday. Rain chances come to an end Thursday with a high of 85. Friday through the weekend, highs will range between 87 and 92, still below the normal July high temperature for this time of year.
