Abilene's high Thursday was 69 degrees, but Friday should be about 10 degrees warmer. This in advance of a cold front that pushes through the area Saturday morning into afternoon, dropping temperatures Saturday to highs in the mid to upper 50's. Even colder air moves in by Sunday morning, temperatures start the day in the upper 20's Sunday and only get into the upper 30's. Showers are also expected Sunday and temperatures will be cold enough to also think about some sleet or possibly snow mixing in with the rain. Monday only a few spotty showers with highs near 40. Monday night and Tuesday is our best chance for rain, highs Tuesday closer to 50. Wednesday and Thursday, highs 40 to 45, no rain in the Wednesday forecast but showers could return by Thursday into next Friday.
