The stubborn high pressure ridge will remain stuck over the Big Country, and much of Texas and the Central Plains states, through Sunday. The ridge is forecast to move west a few hundred miles by next Monday or Tuesday, allowing cooler air to move into Texas from a large low pressure area over the Great Lakes region, much cooler air than usual for this time of year. It's the same thing that happened this time last week. So next week, beginning on Tuesday we expect a daily chance for showers or storms (20 percent so far) and highs in the middle 90's eventually falling possibly into the 80's by next Thursday. Until early next week, we swelter in temperatures around 100.
