After a record setting 28 degrees on Tuesday morning, the afternoon high reached 65 in Abilene. Temperatures on Wednesday should be considerably warmer, from 42 in the morning to near 75 in the afternoon with mostly sunny skies with a few clouds. South wind will be strong on Wednesday at 20 to 30 mph. Thursday we will see a weak cold front slide into the area in the afternoon which could cause a handful of showers and thunderstorms. A better chance (30 to 40 percent) of showers and storms comes this weekend, especially Saturday night, with an upper level system passing over the area. High temperatures are expected to remain in the 70's through Saturday with 80's Easter Sunday into early next week.
