There has been no shortage of cold weather this winter, and Mother Nature shows no signs of stopping the cold trend. Beginning tonight, the Big Country will drop below freezing and stay below freezing until around noon on Friday. While a few snow flurries may fall Wednesday, our better chance for light snow is on Thursday but accumulations are expected to remain very light. Our main concern over the Wednesday/Thursday time period are cold temperatures, some 30 degrees or more colder than typical early February. Average high this time of year is 59 degrees. Forecast highs Wednesday and Thursday in the middle to upper 20's. Overnight lows in the middle teens. With north wind of 10 to 20 mph, expect wind chills the next two days in the single digits. Temperatures climb back to near 40 Friday, the 50's Saturday, only to fall again on Sunday back to near 40.
