The best chance for showers and storms this week comes on Wednesday as a stationary front eases into the Big Country. Late Tuesday night, the front was draped over our northwestern counties near Aspermont and northeastward to Knox City and then into Oklahoma. Heavy rain had developed near Wichita Falls late Tuesday afternoon and that rain had actually backed to the southwest, along the front. Pockets of heavy rain will be possible on Wednesday due to slow moving storms. Highs will be somewhat cooler due to clouds and rain on Wednesday with middle 80's in the northern counties, near 90 in Abilene but still in the middle 90's across the southern Big Country. By Friday July 4th, it's back to a hot and dry weather pattern.
