The most favorable pattern for rain West Texas has seen in months is coming our way this holiday weekend. Rain is in your forecast to a small extent Thursday then to likely Friday through next Tuesday. We're expecting periods of rain to move through from time to time as disturbances associated with an upper level low pass through West Texas. Rainfall totals could exceed two inches in some areas, especially from Abilene north and west. This is a slow moving system which is a good thing for West Texas, allowing for several periods of rain through early next week. Overnight lows in the middle 60's and afternoon highs in the low 80's are in the forecast through early next week.
