Lady Loboes Hold Strong in TABC Class 2A Poll, 16 Big Country Teams Ranked

The Cisco Lady Loboes held their ground in Class 2A of the girls poll this week. Meanwhile a total of 16 Big Country boys and girls basketball teams made the cut in the TABC poll.

On Friday night the Lady Loboes picked up a big road win over Clyde, and this week hold onto the sixth spot in Class 2A. Right behind them is the Jim Ned Lady Indians at number seven after they had a clean run through district a week ago.

In Class 3A, the Wylie Lady Bulldogs once again held onto their spot at number four after a convincing win over Monahans on Friday night. The Brownwood Lady Lions on the other hand dropped to number 25 after suffering their first district loss at the hands of Liberty Hill on Saturday afternoon.

The Goldthwaite Lady Eagles held strong at number eight this week in Class 1A Div. I. The Hamlin Lady Pipers on the other hand dropped to number 21 after they fell to Albany.

The Highland Lady Hornets remain the highest ranked girls basketball team in the Big Country at number two in Class 1A Div. II. Following behind them is the Eula Lady Pirates at number eight, and Cross Plain Lady Buffaloes at number 19. The Baird Lady Bears dropped out of the top 25 this week.

The boys polls saw little change this week in Class 3A with the Wylie Bulldogs holding at number five after knocking off previously ranked Monahans on Friday night.

The Breckenridge Buckaroos on the other hand fell five spots to number 13 after suffering their first loss of the season at the hands of Eastland on Friday night.

In Class 1A Div. I the Stamford Bulldogs continued their steady climb up the rankings to number 11 this week after picking up wins over Munday and Anson last week.

The bulk of the boys team from the Big Country come from Class 1A Div. II once again this week. The Throckmorton Greyhounds are the highest ranked at number six. Right behind them is the Ira Bulldogs at 11, and the Eula Pirates at 12.

The Abilene Christian High School Panthers kept their spot at number six in the small private schools classification once again this week after knocking off Denton Calvary Academy on Friday night.
