The Loboes would jump out to an early 1-0 lead on a sacrifice fly in the first inning, but Merkel pitcher Dixon Yaddow would settle in during the second inning. A strike-out by Yaddow would cap off a clean inning by the left-hander and keep the Loboes off the board in the second.
Lewis would follow by pitching a clean top of the third, capped off with a strike-out to help get the Loboes bats back to the plate.
In the bottom half of the third Cisco's offense would go to work. A base hit by Colton Kent would drive in Lewis and extend Cisco's lead to 2-0.
They would add two more runs and take a 4-0 lead a short time later. That would prove be enough for Lewis as the right-hander held Merkel to just one hit in route to the four run victory.
The win also keeps Cisco alive to share the district title with a match-up against rival Eastland this coming week.
