Local Target Shoppers Concerned About Compromised Information

Target announced that between November 27th and December 15th around 40 million card accounts were compromised due to a data breach.
Thursday morning, Target announced that about 40 million credit and debit card accounts were impacted as a result of a data breach. If you swiped your card at Target between the day before Thanksgiving and December 15th, your card information may have been compromised.

Many local Target shoppers are concerned about their information. Some have already called to cancel their cards, while others were worried to learn that they may be at risk.

Vice President of Western Bank, Jared Bailey, said that the best thing that consumers can do at this point is to carefully look over your bank statements. If you do see any charges that you do not recognize, contact your bank as soon as possible. From that point on, it is best that the banks deal directly with the card companies themselves in order to get the money back into your account.
