L.O.C.K Project Kicks off Child Abuse and Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month

Bringing awareness to sexual assault and child abuse in Abilene.
To kick off Child Abuse and Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month, the Abilene/ Taylor County Child Advocacy Centers has launched the L.O.C.K program.

Outside of the Lowe's Home Improvement store on Ridgemont, there lies a chain link fence, where residents can place padlocks on it to symbolize a stance against child abuse.

The chair of the advocacy, Dee Moore spoke at the event, saying, "We need that the community get involved. That we discuss this openly; that we have communication, dialogue and especially about sexual child abuse."
