A former client of Meals on Wheels donated a fourth of her estate to the organization.
Meals On Wheels received a check for thirty-seven thousand dollars from a former client of the program. A local woman, who had been receiving hot meals for two years, passed away recently. She left one-fourth of her estate to the organization.
The Executive Director, Betty Bradley, explained that she was overwhelmed and excited when she received the check in the mail.
"A lot of days I am not expecting very much, and one day I opened the mail and there was a check for thirty seven thousand dollars. And I just was overwhelmed! It was so exciting and so needed at this time," Bradley said.
The donation was deposited into the endowment fund and will be used to provide meals for the future.
