Motorcycle, Scooter Enthusiasts Celebrate Ride to Work Day

The 4th Annual Abilene Motorcycle and Scooter Ride to Work Day will take place on Monday, June 16, 2014.
The 4th Annual Abilene Motorcycle and Scooter Ride to Work Day will take place on Monday, June 16, 2014. Ride to Work Day is celebrated annually around the world to promote the value of motorcycle and scooter transportation while highlighting safety as well as public awareness. Benefits include saving on gasoline, reducing traffic congestion and just being a fun mode of transportation.

Motorcycle and scooter owners are invited to celebrate Ride to Work Day by gathering with their motorcycle or scooter in front of the Taylor County Expo Center, located at 1700 Texas 36, at 11 a.m. The group will then ride to Kent’s Harley Davidson, located at 3106 South Clack St., for a free lunch.

“Ride to Work Day is a great opportunity for anyone who rides motorcycles or scooters to get together,” said Dean Cater, Abilene’s Ride to Work Coordinator. “We can heighten motorcycle and scooter awareness in our community and make Abilene a safer place to ride.”
