No Real Change to Lake Brownwood After All the Rain

Lake Brownwood is still low even after recent rains.
Brown County received a lot of rain last week, and in this drought even a little helps. However the rain didn't have a great effect on Lake Brownwood. Brown county received about three inches of rain. So only three inches was added to lake. The lake is still nine feet below the spill way level. However it is better than it was two years ago when the lake was sixteen feet below spill level. Even though the lake didn't rise that much it didn't stop people from taking their boats out. Some locals were out there fishing and relaxing in the cool weather. But the general manager of Brown County Water improvement District explained that the lake will need a hard rain to facilitate a runoff. Right now the lake is currently at 1415.9 feet. Only a select boat docks are open but the lake is safe to go on.  People hope that more rain is coming to help the lake.
