Permian Basin's Oil Boom Affecting Big Country

With the oil boom that has the Permian Basin busting at the edges with people, the Big Country is also getting in on the boom. It may not be from actual drilling, but from employees traveling to the Permian Basin, students getting taught in engineering in Abilene universities, and supplies being made here and shipped there. All of this is not only benefiting the Basin but our region as well.

Larry Wellhausen, with Bullet Development, LLC says that the boom is expected to last another 30 years. He says that we didn't quite make the boom as the Eastern Shelf starts to dip down into the Basin just sixty miles east of Abilene.
