Protecting The Elderly Against Scams

How the First Financial Bank, the Abilene Police Department and Adult Protective Services are teaming up to prevent scams from overtaking the elderly.
A press conference was held at the First Financial Bank in downtown Abilene to discuss the effects of, and hopefully prevent, financial elder abuse in the Big Country.

First Financial along with the Abilene Police Department and Adult Protective Services have teamed up and joined forces to bring awareness to the issue.

A few things to remember, says Steve Abel of the Better Business Bureau: trust your instincts, if something doesn't feel right, it probably isn't, and remember to report anything suspicious you see.
 
Unfortunately, the experts said elder abuse is most common among known family members or care takers who take advantage of seniors who cannot care for themselves.
