Rescue the Animals Breaking Ground on Potential Expansion

Rescue the Animas has broken ground with the intent of doubling their capacity.
Rescue the Animas has broken ground with the intent of doubling their capacity. The shelter currently has 28 large kennels and after the expansion is complete that number will have grown to 56. This will provide the animals with more room and a longer stay.

"Animals are being held much longer now. Several years ago they were only held about three days, now they're being held up to two weeks. The adoption rate has tripled in the last 5 years. So as the animals stay longer, they need more space," explains Paul Washburn, thePresident of Rescue the Animals SPCA.

Funding for this construction will both be a public and a private partnership.
